| Introducing my son, Anthony Beckford | Friend -- My name is Paulette Beckford. I am the Mother of your next City Councilman Anthony Beckford. Now that Jumaane Williams is the new Public Advocate of New York City, we need someone like my son Anthony, who has been consistent in advocating and helping out the community as the next Councilman of District 45. Anthony is a loving son and has dedicated his life to helping others. I remember when Anthony was 12 years old, he spoke out against the rezoning of School District 18 which would have took the funding out of our schools at that time. His Voice became the representation of every student and parent in the School District. He was able to force the School Board to have an emergency Vote and put a stop to the rezoning. Recently, Anthony helped the community shut down a racist business where the owner and employees savagely beat three innocent Black Women. As the Leader of the Brooklyn Sector of Copwatch Patrol Unit, Anthony has been on the frontlines holding NYPD Officers accountable for violations of the rights of those in our communities and has stood in Solidarity with the families of those who lost loved ones to police violence.
